Bouquets to Chelsea

Unless you've been off the planet for the last week, you've heard that Chelsea Clinton tied the knot this past Saturday -- in a wedding dress that was absolutely TDF.  Chelsea’s strapless ivory gown, custom designed for her by Vera Wang, was both beautifully modern and perfectly princess.  Its silk tulle diagonally draped bodice and laser-cut, swirling silk organza ballgown skirt and train were set off to perfection by a jeweled belt and a long, romantic tulle veil.  For the reception, Chelsea changed into another Wang creation, this one a Grecian-inspired style with a criss-cross back and a narrow black ribbon at her waist. The former First Daughter displayed an enviable sense of style that future brides will want to imitate. Brava to the bride.

I Pink I Do!

Wedding season is upon us -- I have two weddings this month alone, with a couple more following later on this summer. Fortunately, these are all outdoor afternoon events, which means I get to wear some of my pretty new summer dresses -- including one in a gorgeous mini floral print and one a fitted silhouette in champagne-colored raw silk.  I know that all the brides will be stunning.  When they asked me my nail color recommendations, I suggested they all think pink!  OPI's four  PINK SoftShades Nail Lacquers are all sweetly provocative takes on light pink.  There's the perfect pink for every bride -- and every woman! -- and all of them bring a touch of romance to wedding days and everyday.  I think I'm going to cry ...

Something New for Something Blue

Here's a new idea of the "something blue" lots of brides like to carry or wear on their wedding day.  Tradition says that blue is the color of loyalty, certainly something any marrying couple would wish for.  Brides have worn blue garters, carried blue handkerchiefs, even woven a blue ribbon in their bouquet or into the slip of their gown.  The Bride's Guide, a blog from the editors of Martha Stewart Weddings, suggests dark blue nails as both your "something blue" and a sophisticated touch, especially if dark blue is part of your wedding palette.  The Guide recommends OPI Nail Lacquer in Light My Sapphire as an "especially elegant" choice.  Try it on at opi.com.

Weddingbells Editor Marries in OPI

Just had to share this bit of wedding news I received recently:  Alison McGill, editor of Canada's weddingbells magazine, chose OPI Nail Lacquer in Bastille My Heart for her wedding day!   Alison thinks it's a "great red," and says it complemented her red-soled designer shoes (do I really need to tell you the designer's name?) so well.  Congratulations, Alison!  Wishing you -- and all of this season's brides -- much happiness!
