If you remember the 1970s, then you remember Marimekko. And if
you don't, get ready to fall in love.  A Scandinavian design house whose bold, eye-popping, iconic graphics were a favorite of Jackie Kennedy, Marimekko 
now offers its prints on housewares, accessories, and fashion -- Reese Witherspoon and Jennifer Garner are fans. InStyle celebrates Marimekko's 60th anniversary, and its resurgence with modern stylistas, in its January issue. According to the mag, it's the "perfect way to punch up your winter wardrobe for the new year." More fun than a box of crayons -- even the BIG box.

Lace-to-Lace

How do you make wearing lace fresh and fab?  Layer it.   Lucky magazine

Green Is the New Black

Indeed.

Darkest green is this fall's new always-chic shade, as seen on the fashion runways. During February's New York Fashion Week (previewing what we'll all be wearing this fall), OPI was in the spotlight and in the green.  OPI sponsored designer Cynthia Rowley's Fall 09 show,

with nail pros coloring models’ fingertips in Here Today … Aragon Tomorrow from the new Colección de España.  This black-emerald shade was the perfect accessory to Rowley’s chic, polished collection -- and is the Color of the Moment according to Allure.

 

OPI & Paige Denim Launch at Ron Herman

On May 2, Paige Adams-Geller, of Paige Premium Denim, and I, along with celebs and LA's shopping elite, gathered at Ron Herman on Melrose for the launch event of OPI's new Bright Pair Nail Lacquers and coordinating new Paige Denim shorts and jeans. (See my 4/30 posting for all the deets about Bright Pair.)  In attendance were 90210 star Jessica Lowndes and celebutante Nicky Hilton, who were pampered with OPI manicures in No Room for the Blues, one of the six new Bright Pair shades.   Paige and I loved watching attendees get Bright Pair manis and choose their favorite colors for denim and nails, sometimes matching, sometimes not.
