Tweedle-dee-dee

The little tweed jacket has been a fashion staple since Coco Chanel, and for good reason.  Sharp, sophisticated, elegant -- and, marie claire reports, particularly winsome in today's "shrunken fits and playful hues."  Toss one on over a basic white shirt, jeans or khakis, and heels, and you're ready to go anywhere.  And if you've got that certain sense of chic, a gorgeous silk scarf at your neck is the perfect final touch (tie it on in a casual triangle, as on the Left Bank). Coco would be proud.

 

 

The Art of the Drape

The ancient Greeks knew the art of the drape on the female form -- alluring, forgiving, and sexy.  (Flash forward to Scarlett O'Hara making her dress out of the living room drapes -- ok, maybe not exactly the same thing.) The drape continues to mesmerize this season, as style.com reports, in everything from skirts to tops,
shoes to earrings. The luscious curves of the drape flatter and enhance your curves, giving you some where you might need them, artfully camouflaging the ones you might find too generous.  Fatally feminine. Artfully done.

Camel-lot Awaits

What makes a classic, a classic? The fact that in some incarnation or another, it never

So Much Fashion -- Just One Week

Fashion Week kicks off on Thursday, and the looks for Spring 2011 are about to be revealed. In reading through September's ginormous fashion tomes, I came upon an ad for Ralph Lauren handbags, introduced as Lauren by Ralph Lauren. As gorgeous and classic as you would expect, these bags are sure to be seen gracing the arms of the celeb set, and fashionistas everywhere,  this season.  What struck me about the look of these ads is the model's resemblance to Jackie Kennedy Onassis, in her clothing, her accessories, and her camera presence.  A perfect choice for this most classic of American designers.  Love the chocolateness of the bag?  Try OPI Nail Lacquer in I'm Suzi & I'm a Chocoholic to capture that shade on nails.
